LATEST--ISIS TO RECRUIT FIGHTERS IN NIGERIA

This is not good at all as the Federal Government has raised alarm over the presence of some agents of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS, in Nigeria to recruit more fighters into their fold. 

The National Coordinator, National Information Centre and Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri made this known in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, David Akoji yesterday Dec. 23.

Omeri said that intelligence information gathered by Security officials show that three South African nationals disguising as humanitarian workers are currently in the country to facilitate the recruitment of some Nigerians into the islamic terror group. He appealed to Nigerians to be vigilant and report humanitarian workers with suspicious motives

"Nigerians are known the world over to be selfless, hospitable and humanitarian. We believe in the brotherhood of all mankind and no one should be allowed to take advantage of these virtues or turn them into vices. Nigerians are therefore advised to report to security agencies without hesitation, any group or non-governmental agency whose overt or covert activities are suspicious or have tendencies to jeopardise the innocence of our youths and the security of our people wherever they are in the world,” he said.

A 13 years old girl was arrested in Kano by the  Kano state Police command on Dec. 24th she was identified as Zahra'u Babban Gida who was found with explosives strapped on her body opposite the Kantin-Kwari textile market, same place where two female suicide bombers detonated bombs two weeks ago killing many.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police Alhaji Tashid Aderile Shinaba said she was arrested by police officers who found her moves suspicious. When interrogated, the young girl said her father was the one who took her to the people who strapped her with the bombs.

Nigeria Court Has Jails Another Fraudster For Duping Australian $800,000

Justice Kudirat Jose from Lagos State High Court, has just convicted and sentenced a man name Promise Ntuen Ekemini to one year imprisonment, for hijacking the e-mail of a lawful owner of a property, located in Western Australia valued at $800,000 and attempting to sell the property. 

He was arraigned in April, 2014 on a 5-count charge bordering on conspiracy to defraud, attempt to obtain money by false pretences and forgery. Justice Jose found him guilty of all the charges and convicted him. His sentence will from the day of his arraignment. 

Ekemini got into trouble by impersonating Brian Roderick Daniel, owner of a property located at No. 143, Sprinaway Parade, Falcon, Western Australia and offering his property to buyers on the internet without the consent of the owner. 

The Australian Police alerted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to monitor a controlled delivery of some documents related to the transactions to Ekemini. He was arrested at the point of collection of the documents.

Traders In Anguish As Fire Rock Ogunpa Market In Ibadan

Fire rock the popular Labaowo Market,  Ogunpa in Ibadan, Oyo State, the fire which  left traders in anguish after a section of the market was ravaged by the fire.
